RBIZ
RBIZ has been doing shows and hitting microphones around Montana for over 5 years now. He comes from a small town of only 850 people, and now resides in Missoula, MT, where he works day and night to get his music out to the masses. He released his first album "Everywhere I Go" in February of 2004, and since then has only gained more respect and more fans across the state as well as the northwest.
Hip-Hop is becoming a saturated market with more and more artists trying to conform to a certain image to sell their albums. One of the biggest misconceptions in rap music is "having to be from the hood" to make good music. Since Rap music was made famous by gangstas, everyone today still thinks that rap should be done by "gangstas." This would be one of many hurdles that RBIZ would face in his journey...
Ambition and Initiative set RBIZ apart from so many other independent musicians. Charging studio equipment to credit cards, he began recording demos out of the closet in his room in 2002. The tracks were good enough to be shopped around, but they were stuck on a cassette tape. After shopping the demo and getting schooled through the ins and outs of the music industry, one company, Dynasty Records, showed interest in taking RBIZ to the next level. $4,000 later and deep in debt, RBIZ still did not have a project done. Dynasty had a lot on their table and RBIZ got lost in the shuffle. This would be the first of many set backs.
In 2003, RBIZ submitted some of his material to the NY International Music Festival in Los Angeles, CA. The festival put RBIZ into more debt, but he did make some key contacts which helped to launch his first LP, "Everywhere I Go." Released in February of 2004, "Everywhere I Go" offers a quick look into the struggles and hustle that it takes to get your foot in the door of an industry that cares nothing about the artist, only the money that's there to make.
After selling nearly a thousand copies around Montana, RBIZ could start to see a little success coming his way. In late 2004, RBIZ and some friends scraped up enough money to attend the CIG music summit. This is where RBIZ would meet some producers and MC's who would contribute to his next album, "Half MT."
Released in September of 2005, "Half MT" featured Las Vegas Jazz musician, Sam Riddle, and put RBIZ on the map in his homestate. People started respecting the hustle, and it landed him shows with artists such as 50 Cent, Lil Jon, Tech N9NE, Sir-Mix-A-Lot, Yukmouth, Digital Underground, and many more. "Half MT" has sold more then 1,800 copies to date in his homestate, and has launched RBIZ into being one of the leading MCs in the Northwest.
While the success of "Half MT" was still boiling, JaeO was selling albums himself. Coming up through the underground scene, JaeO was a lit fuse unlike anything Montana had ever seen. His image was everything Montana feared; a man whom holds respect in every crack and crevice in Missoula. JaeO and RBIZ met each other at a UFC fighting event and started talking business. From there, they performed over 15 shows together and decided that uniting would be unstoppable. The birth of "THA TAKEOVER" commenced, and this would only be the beginning of a road that many would travel, and only few would complete.
RBIZ now acts as Exigh's manager and has stepped down from the mic.
